# Printable habit tracker

List up to ten habits, choose a month and paper size, and print a clean tracking grid. Or keep it on screen and tick each day off: your ticks stay in this browser.

## Making your tracker

1. Type up to ten habits. Short names print best: “Walk 20 min” rather than a whole sentence.
2. Pick the month. The grid gets the right number of days, with weekends shaded and each day’s initial.
3. Choose **US Letter** or **A4** and an orientation, then press **Print tracker**. In the print dialog, keep the scale at 100% (or “Default”) and turn off headers and footers for the cleanest page.

**Landscape** lists habits down the side with the days running across, the classic layout. **Portrait** turns the grid so the days run down the page and each habit gets its own column, which suits a binder or a fridge door.

## Tracking on screen

Tap or click a square to tick a day; tap again to untick. The **Done** column counts ticks per habit. Ticks are kept per month in this browser’s local storage, so you can move between months and come back. Tick **Print my ticks** to print the month as it stands; leave it off for a blank sheet.

A tracker works best as a nudge, not a scorecard. Missing a day is normal; what helps is starting again the next day.

Trying out habit apps before settling on one? Many ask for an email address before you can look around. A free disposable inbox from [CleanTempMail](https://cleantempmail.com/) lets you sign up and see if you like an app, without its newsletters landing in your real inbox. Its messages are deleted after three days, so once you pick an app to keep, switch the account to your own address; otherwise you cannot reset its password later.

## Questions

**Why are my printed lines faint or cut off?**

Check the print dialog: set the scale to 100% or “Default”, choose the same paper size as here, and switch off “Fit to page” if the edges are missing. Turning on background graphics prints the weekend shading.

**Can I track more than ten habits?**

Ten keeps every square big enough to tick with a pen. For more, print two sheets with different habit lists.

**Are my habits and ticks private?**

Yes. They are saved only in this browser’s local storage on this device and are never sent anywhere.
